Sept Blog of the Month - Regime of Terror

The Blog of the Month is “Regime of Terror”, a blog that I found when googling for information about sectarian violence in Iraq.

While apologists like George Galloway, Ramsey Clark and the legions of other anti-Bush propagandists wax nostalgic about Saddam’s regime, this blog publishes evidence of the crimes of the Baathist occupation of Iraq. The blog primarily focuses on their promotion of terrorism.

To this day elements of the illegitimate regime have continued their time-proven tactics of fostering political violence and “Regime of Terror” makes sure to document that as well. As the insurgency has developed the blog has painstakingly patched together a clear picture of Baathist and Al Qaeda cooperation. So it is an excellent starting point for those looking to educate themselves about the past and current activities of Saddam’s regime and its supporters.

Apologists long for the peaceful days of the Baathist regime. These pictures of the victims of the Baathist regime are a monument to those “idealistic” times before President Bush “ruined it”.

This is not a comment to this post, I didnt even read this post. I'm writting you because you post a comment on this page:
http://www.moonbattery.com/archives/2007/08/swedish_moonbat.html
that I will fully copy here:

Julia its akin to a Venezuealan historian in the year 2050 only teaching about the coup against Chavez and never mentioning Chavez's own coup attempts or his awful government.

I felt insulted by this comment because it shows a blind intolerance. I recommend you to go to this page http://antipatrioticvenezuelan.blogspot.com, its my blog and it will show you among other things, that the coup Chavez leaded in 1992 remains as a painful memory of my childhood, and the events of April 2002 as a doubt but also painful memory of my adolescence. And today, I'm still fighting after more than 5 years against Chavez government. So just because I dont fully support capitalism you deserve to label me as a Chavez supporter. Thats unfair.

hiya Freedom!..as u say......anti-Bush propagandists wax nostalgic about Saddam’s regime...what praytell is nostalgic about rape rooms and systematic torture of human beings...argggggggggggggg!

Sorry Julia this is a misunderstanding. I didnt call you a Chavez supporter, I was merely making an analogy.

I compared the Swedish librarians who were trying to eliminate the mention of Communist atrocities to a future scenario in which Venezuelan historians could do the same about the history of Chavez's regime.

This analogy was made because I did read your blog before making my comment and I understood that you opposed Chavez's regime. The theory was that you would be able to relate to this comparison because of that. However, I didnt expect you to believe that I was calling you a Chavista.

I suppose that would be the biggest insult that I could possibly make to someone from Venezuela.

My apologies for the mixup.

Hey Angel,

I'm sorry to see that you dont think Saddam's efficient killing machine was good enough to keep.

Perhaps you werent getting a cut of the oil for food scam?

We can make it retroactive if you would just support the "resistance"!!!! George Galloway will contact you with the details...

Apology accepted... Well for many venezuelans being called a Chavez supporter is not an insult... but for me, it certainly is!

Yeah, Bush ruins everything, doesn't he? Sends hurricanes at will, too. Bet Saddam couldn't do that. ;-)

Thanks for the tip about the blog, Regime of Terror. I read some of it just now. Compelling.

Hey there, Freedomnow,

I'm now posting from Chicago. Just read your post and think it's right on! All the leftist appeasers would have us think Bush is the "real" terrorist; that had it not been for America's liberation of Iraq everything would have been just right...what a bunch of miserable bastards!

I will check out the blog and I must say I especially liked your description of the grotesque pic's of Kurdish and Shi'ite victims of Saddam's brutal oppression.

Its weird how statistics of hundreds of thousands of murdered Iraqis under Saddam are not as effective as two pictures with dozens (although the graves they come from are much larger).

Few critics of either side seriously doubt the numbers, but a picture is not easy to gloss over, while statistics are easily ignored.

Eitan Ha'ahzari said...

yeah, I guess you're right, FN. Pictures do have more of an impact on a human brain than cold statistics. In any case it's a good thing Bush put an end to Saddam's reign of terror once and for all. I just don't understand why no action is being taken against a much more dangerous enemy: Iran.

One step at a time, buddy.

I think if Iraq can stand on their own as a democratic nation, the Iranian mullahs are gonna be hard pressed to deny their citizens freedom.

Patience is more than a virtue!

...Plus, with an independent and democratic Iraq, the slanderous propaganda coming from Iran will be seen as a lie and it will further erode their position.

FN: I still don't think the current government is doing enough in its fight against our worst enemy: global jihad. Yes, America has done a fairly good job(I'd even say very)in Iraq and Afghanistan(yet there are still American casualties because as I've stated over and over, Al-Qaida is at its most popular and has an undrainable well of potential shahids but as far as Iran goes, America and its allies have done nothing.

The only scenario in which the free world comes out unscathed as far as I see it is if the Iranian people themselves begin taking responsibility for their government's actions and opposing it whether openly or behind closed doors.

There is something profoundly dark in the heart of those who wish for a return to genocide simply to spite Bush. I suppose if all they care about is "making the trains run on time", it matters not if the rails are greased with blood. What compassion the left has!
