Silent Truth, Loud Propaganda

On January 14, 2005 Specialist Charles Graner, a guard at Abu Ghraib Prison, was pronounced guilty of numerous charges relating to the infamous prisoner abuse case that was named after the prison. The next day he was sentenced to ten years in federal prison.

In the aftermath of its investigation the Department of Defense removed seventeen soldiers and officers from duty. In addition seven soldiers were charged with dereliction of duty, maltreatment, aggravated assault, and battery. Between May 2004 and September 2005, seven soldiers were convicted in courts-martial (this is the proper plural spelling), sentenced to federal prison time and dishonorably discharged from service. The commanding officer at the prison, Brig. General Janis Karpinski, was demoted to the rank of colonel on May 5, 2005. We'll come back to this subject, but for now lets examine a related topic...

Tom Fox joined Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT) in Iraq to help Iraqi civilians and to campaign on the behalf of insurgents held in the custody of the US military and Iraqi government. In March of 2005 he wrote a statement of conviction that addressed the risk of being taken hostage by insurgents while in Iraq. He wrote, “We forgive those who consider us their enemies…We hope that in loving both friends and enemies and by intervening non-violently to aid those who are systematically oppressed, we can contribute in some small way to transforming this volatile situation.”

So he refused to “forgive” the US for its alleged “oppression”, yet forgave the actions of his kidnappers/murderers. Did it ever occur to him that the insurgents are the true oppressors?

This poor man was brainwashed by the misguided activists at CPT. Clearly, Mr. Fox’s chosen enemy was the US and yet he went unmolested by American troops. However, the people that he expressed solidarity with (the insurgents) callously killed him. He was sold a fairy tale and paid his life for it.

Cindy Sheehan wrote an open letter to the Fox family stating, “The killing of Tom Fox does nothing to foster peace in the Middle East, but can be used for a renewed call for the immediate withdrawal of all coalition troops from Iraq so the people of Iraq can rebuild their lives and their country. So the killing of innocents and our American troops can stop.” This comes from a woman that camped out in front of President Bush’s private residence and said, “If we get killed out here, know that the Secret Service killed us”.

Sheehan also claimed this golden nugget, “The biggest terrorist in the world is George W. Bush”. Isnt it ironic that the “biggest terrorist in the world” didn’t kill Sheehan when she camped out in front of his home (like she claimed he would) and he didn’t kill Tom Fox when he went to the Iraqi war zone to help Iraqi insurgents.

How long will these “activists” continue to insult our intelligence?

They continually slander our troops in Iraq.

Sure, there was abuse at Abu Ghraib, but justice was served. Despite this, Leftists still clamor for the convictions of higher ranking officers and officials without any offer of proof. The only proof that exists is that the abusive treatment of prisoners is not condoned, as provided by last year’s courts-martial.

It’s obvious from the many abuse pictures which have been widely circulated that the jailors were taking out their anger against terrorism by humiliating the prisoners. See their smiling faces and thumbs up signs. The abuse shown in those photographs reveals that the motivation was to humiliate the prisoners rather than extract information from them.

Why do Leftists make excuses for terrorist massacres like 9/11 and the Intifada, saying that it was provoked by their enemy’s alleged injustices (US and Israel) and yet do not say the same for these soldiers (that they were provoked by the injustices of terrorism)? Please don’t quote me out of context because I am not excusing the behavior of these Abu Ghraib guards. They are complete and utter idiots. I am simply pointing out the hypocrisy of leftwing propaganda.

These smears are calculated to make the US occupation more difficult. In the end this only incites more bloodshed. What kind of message is sent when the first democratically elected government in the history of Iraq is scorned by peace activists who served as human shields to protect a murderous dictator?

The true character of our troops can found in the many humanitarian projects undertaken in Iraq. Major water works, sewerage facilities, electrical power stations, schools, hospitals, transportation centers, and many other projects are continually in progress. If you want to see the real honest face of American troops in Iraq then browse the pictures below.

i would have pulled a "dick cheney" on cindy had she been perched in my yard for more than a moment - she'd have been picking shot out of her big trunk for several months to come.

these photos tell a story too many will never see. the children and soldiers always get to me. it's sad however the few that have gone astray reflect on the rest in some eyes.

excellent article, as usual fern.

p.s. - i also replied to mr. ducks!

Actually I meant that you are highly exciting. You wouldnt want me to tell people that you are a bore, would you?

nanc said...

you are too kind as usual. and of course i wouldn't want to be described as a bore! i mean, come on, if i'm a bore - what would that make everybody else?

Freedomnow said...

...ummmm you're gonna be mad. I'm sorry Nanc, I thought thats what you wanted and I told everyone that you are really boring.

I tell you what, I will call everyone up and let them know the truth.

President Bush said that he was going hunting with Cheney so I'll tell him when he gets back...

george would never say that about me!

fern - do you ever go to mike's america? he has a wondy site - i think you'd like it. he has resident trolls and really puts them in their place - i've been trying to round you up your very own troll, to no avail. your repellant must be working...

By the way, I responded to your silly comment in which you called me a member of the "peace movement" on Mrs. Mike's America blog. But that 'nadless wonder took my comment off.

I would have loved for this president to have slammed Saudi Arabia after they attacked us on 9/11, but he didn't. That would have made his hand-holding sessions with the shieks a little awkward.

That's right Chrissy Wissy. Like the rest of your crowd, you contribute NOTHING positive to the much needed debate on what are truly life and death issues. You'll be deleted every time and like the rest of your crowd, you deserve no further consideration.

Now, on topic: A great piece!

I would just add that we have never seen Muther Sheehan going over to meet the "freedom fighters."

She's too busy hanging around with Hugo Chavez and the rest of the hate America crowd.

Maybe Chris would like to take her over to Fallujah and we could kill two turds with one stone.

nanc said...

who on earth are you talking to chris? because i don't recall ever accusing anybody of being a member of the "peace movement". please direct your comments to the proper poster.

fern - did you make this accusation? did you round up your own troll?

OML, fern - remind me not to tick mike off! priss sounds like the line, "the lady doth protest too much."

p.s. - fern - i just realized you link to mike's america - i usually go to beamish' site and link to all my favorite sites from there and then i open another window and go to autonomist and link to my other faves from there. you have good taste in links and i'm not talking sausage baby!

Hee heeee...

We finally got a little action around here. Thanks for the heads up Nanc.

I agree with Peaceman that we should be harder on the Wahabi bastards in Saudi Arabia. They asked us to help them when Saddam invaded Kuwait and what do we get in return?

It is said that America is anti-Muslim. That is horseshit!!! Saddam was a secular ruler who invaded a devoutly Muslim country (Kuwait).

We fought to protect Muslims in Kosovo and Somalia. Although, we support Israel we have been the biggest financial contributor to the Palestinians of any country (including Muslim) and we have used our leverage over Israel to negotiate peace at Camp David and the Oslo accords. We are also the biggest supporters of Turkey's entry into the EU.

The terrorist fascists we fight in Afghanistan and Iraq do not represent the Muslim faith. They destroy it by bombing Shiite mosques in Iraq and Pakistan.

Allah bless the U-S-A!!!

Hey Mike!

If you had any sack at all, you'd keep my posts up on your girlish little blog. After all, the less time you spend deleting my posts, the more time you can spend curating your photo collection of Republicans in Cowboy Hats.

Seriously, is there a Mrs. Mike's America? All the Reagan beefcake photos would suggest "no."

Freedomnow said...

No wonder Mike banned your peace protesting ass!!!

Hell if I wasnt starving for a little adversity I would ban you straight off the bat.

Anyways, what kind of crap are you trying to pull by using my blog to comment on someone else's blog?

Get a life or get your own blog. Mike has accomplishments under his belt, your jealousy is unbecoming...

i must congratulate you, fern - you're one of the first people who has ever censored me and come back to say something far worse than what i was censored for! dayam, you're good. actually, now i feel invigorated! i think i'll now go get a chicken and cook it. a live chicken, fern...

But it was Richard Poe who wore a monocle while reading Mein Kampf as MBC bloggers were forced to goosestep in front of him.

I am only the People's Censor and it was the will of the people...

nanc said...

no words for the chicken? okay - here i go...

Freedomnow said...

Whats next will you slaughter people? Its a slippery slope, just ask any Leftist and they will tell you...

nanc said...

teriyaki people? really fern...

Freedomnow said...

Theres no telling what you are capable of.

Dana and Carol B have told me that you kill chickens and process their body fat to be used as fuel for American tanks in Iraq.

This neocon conspiracy gets darker by the minute. If only Beakerkin and his masonic co-conspirators didnt rule the world. Then Vermont would be able to peacefully secede from the Union.

Chris said, "Mike won't let me comment on his blog. I would LOVE to attack him there, but he is far too prissy to engage a man in a fight. He would rather scratch and pull hair. He deletes all my posts. He is a giant wuss. He can't handle dissent, because he has nothing to defend himself with."

Mike banned you because you attack his sex life and make unappropriate personal comments.

I am giving you first warning right now. Some of your comments will be deleted because of its offensive contents.

Personal attacks will not be permitted on my blog unless they are funny or entertaining.

Next time you will be banned for good.

Cheers
