The People’s Censorship

This evening I visited The People’s Cube website and read an interesting article. I wasn’t sure if it was leading to another one of the many hilarious jokes that they are famous for, but instead it was a completely serious post.

Many of you already know that The People’s Cube has been writing some mocking stories about Google’s partnership with the Chinese government to censor the Internet in China. As a result the Proletariats at People’s Cube were not surprised to find that searches of “thepeoplescube.com” made on Google’s search engine were not turning up any results from computers in China. However, they were even more surprised that searching from American, French, German, British, Australian, and Russian computers didn’t turn up any results either!

Now I have had The People’s Cube linked to my site for a while and I haven’t had to use a search engine to find their site for a long time. However, in the past I have used Google to find their website without a problem. So I was just a bit curious. Instead of typing the full address thepeoplescube.com I decided to see if they really were purged from Google’s database by typing in the words separately, “the peoples cube”. After searching through 81 agonizing pages I came up with zilch!!!

The same search on Yahoo!’s search engine turned up The People’s Cube as the first result!!! I used to have Google set as my homepage, but I have now set it to thepeoplescube.com

There are other Search engines out there. Try these:

Ask Jeeves (Ask.com)

Yahoo!

Alta Vista

Lycos

Search Engine Watch

UPDATE 3/19/06

The People's Cube is back up on Google.com

Thats People Power!!!!!!!!

The Peoples Cube is a funny site. I wonder if Communists for Kerry is still available.

beakerkin said...

Fern

The people at the peoples cubes are friends of mine from NYC. They are really funny people.

Freedomnow said...

I spent the first 19 years of my life there. They definitely got a NY sense of humor.

Beak, it appears that you have overstepped your authority. Only Nanc can get away with calling me Fern and live.

You can call me John or Freedom Now.

beakerkin said...

Very Well

The people who apparently run the People's Cube are the Same crew that run Communists for Kerry. They are a lively young crew of local NYC Young Republicans with a great sense of humor. I met them several times at their functions in NYC. They upset the local Commies who do not have a sense of humor.

Hey that was too easy...hmmm...can you spot me a coupla thousand bucks?

Communists for Kerry was John Kerry's most faithful supporters during the election. Marx bless them. Laika the Space Dog really got out the canine working class vote.

As a matter of fact, I believe he was actually endorsed by the Communist Party. I am too lazy to research that one, but I believe it to be true. Correct me if I am wrong...

You know Google and Al Gore are in cahots:

Gore is in it with Apple too.

There's your nexus of commie loving anti-capitalism.

Freedom

Kerry was endorsed by the Communist party. However local young comedic geniuses dressed up as Communist icons and got the real article all flustered.

Mike,

At least Gore didnt go work for a Russian oil firm like you know who. However, Gore is a spineless jellyfish.

I imagine you dont like Bill Clinton very much but I was a big supporter of his and I was very dissappointed in the 2000 election when Gore turned his back on his former boss. That was when I realized that he is a complete loser.

Beak,

Those guys at Peoples Cube are just too funny. Leftists just dont have that sense of humor. Al Franken used to, but he has turned into a windbag...
